(+1)

Damn I got this for free back then is it possible to get the updated version?

Hi there, sorry about that.

Of course. I would be happy to send you the updated version. Can you send me an email to dylanjkotze@gmail.com so I can send it to you.

(+1)

Hello, sir! I did got this asset when it was free. It's still means I can use it, for commercial purpose, right ? I have old pack just with movement animations.

Yes, that is correct, you can still use it for commercial purposes. If you could send me an email to dylanjkotze@gmail.com, I would be happy to send you the updated version.

(+1)

HI! Maybe it is too much to ask for, but can you add one or two blocking animations with the sword? It would be awesome!

Hi there,

Thanks for the request. I have added this to the list of animations to add as soon as I get the time and the other requested animations are done.

Hi there,

I am really sorry for the long delay from my side as I was kept busy full time with work.

I have now added new animations including sword guarding/blocking and sword guard impact as well as a bunch of other animations and effects if it is still needed. The full list of updates can be found here:

(+1)

You're very skilled and the animations are super solid! Keep up the awesome work!

Thanks so much! It truly means a lot.

I have added the shooting and reloading animations to the request list to add as soon as I get time (once I have added the other promised animations such as walking), but just wanted to ask to confirm if you want the shooting to be 2-directional (left and right only) or left, up, right and down or something else entirely? Thanks.

(+1)

What a great project!

I'm gonna buy it but I need normal walking sprite, will you add that?

It would be great for me.

Hi, that's awesome to hear.

I would be really happy to add this, but am not able to add it this week unfortunately due to time constraints. I have added it to the animation request list, but will most probably only be able to add it next week.

Sorry about that.

(+1)

Thats ok, thanks for reply

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay as it is now Monday here. I received your emails now and sent another link to download this to your email. Additionally, I would suggest reading the docs here: https://itch.io/docs/buying/already-bought

Please let me know if you received it.

Thanks for your time and sorry for the inconvenience.

(+1)

will you be adding melee animations like punch and kick? :)

loving the pack so far btw

Yes, I'll definitely be adding melee combat animations as soon as I get the time.

Really glad to hear you are liking it so far.

Hey there. I am so sorry for this late reply, as work kept me really busy. If you still need it, I have added punching and kicking animations amongst some other animations. A full list of the new animations can be found here:

I hope this helps :)

Hi,

You can still use them if you used it before when it was free and no credit is required. So feel free to use it for your future games!

Sorry for any confusion, and hope this helps :)

(+1)

Thanks

Hey there. These animations are great! I'm using them for prototyping in Unity at the moment and everything works like a charm! :)

Maybe an animation for climbing up a ladder would be cool though. (Ladders like in super mario or ladders that are on the side of a wall so the character faces the direction while climbing (similar to the wall slide))

Awesome. That's a great suggestion, thanks. I have added it to the list to add as soon as I am able to, along with bow and arrow and a few other animations.

Hi. I know this is really late, and I am sorry for the delay, but I just wanted to let you know that I have now added ladder climbing animations, wall climbing and rock climbing animations and more if you are still interested at all.

(+1)

Using it in a game for prototyping. The animations look great.

That's awesome. Best of luck with the game! And thanks so much for the compliment.

(1 edit) (+1)

Hey fam idk if you remember me from earlier but I'm the guy who suggested a simple walk cycle.

Check out and play the game I'm making with this:

https://kasragamedev.itch.io/stealth-platformer

I've written a brief of what I intend to make out of it in the description.

Hey - of course I do. I haven't forgotten about the walk cycle, I will do that soon.

I would love to check out the game, but the link seems to go to a 'Not found' page. Has it perhaps been removed or moved to another URL?

(+1)

that's strange. The link works for me. Just click the download button and it automatically downloads the zip file for you.

Thank you. Unfortunately it still seems to show that the page is not found. Is it possible that it is private and not set to public yet?

Sorry for being a bother - I am just excited to see it.

(1 edit)

Oh my god my bad lmao. I saved it as a draft. I made it public now you should be able to see it:

Stealth Platformer by kasragamedev (itch.io)

Ah, haha. Thought it was maybe something I was doing wrong.

I just tested the game and love it so far. I left a comment on it. Really great job dude!

(+1)

Desgraçado está fazendo eu gasta dinheiro em dólar...

Mas só vou comprar porque é de qualidade, espero que continue assim, parabéns aos envolvidos.
Good Job!

(+1)

Hi - I apologize for that. Thanks, I appreciate the feedback and will continue to keep it as high quality as I can, with more combat animations coming soon.

(+1)

i love you and your job <3, but paypal hates me, wait for my money

(+1)

Thank you - sorry for the frustration. If PayPal doesn't work, please contact me via email at dylanjkotze@gmail.com and I will find a different solution.

Thanks for your support.

Hi - I am really sorry for the confusion.

I wanted to be able to get time to work on more animations for it, and adding new sprites (like the combat animations). And for that, I made it $1 to make it a bit financially sustainable.

I honestly thought that it would still be downloadable for free for people who downloaded it before it was set to $1, sorry about that. If you could send me your email, I can send you the update as you downloaded it while it was free.

same here revolver you even responded to my comment and added the combat animations that i asked that is awesome , here is my email krishnarocks1900@gmail.com

heyy never mind i brought it :D

Ah, I am really sorry and feel bad now. I genuinly thought it would be free for people who already downloaded. I should've done more research.

Sorry for the delay, I would've sent it to your email, but due to my timezone, I only saw your post now.

Thanks and I am really sorry for the confusion.

(+1)

no its really fine i wanted to support to anyways so this gave me a reason , great work looking forward for any more updates , like bow and stuff :D

(+1)

Thanks - I truly appreciate it.

Will make sure to work on the bow and stuff next :) Thanks.

Hi Dead Revolver, your work is just AWESOME, I started a few days ago working on a 2D platformer and these animations are just amazing.

Are you open to suggestions and commissions ? I would love some specific animations with your style.

Thank you for your awesome work :)

(+1)

I appreciate your amazing feedback, thanks!

At the moment my day job is keeping me busy most of the time, so don't currently have the time to take on commisions, but it depends on the amount of animations you are looking for. You can also make the suggestions which I will then add as soon as possible when there is time to do so.

Thanks again, and good luck with the game :)

(+1)

Thank you :)

About the animations, there are some, for example:

  • Combat with Spear and claws (wolverine style).
  • pick/place/throw objects.
  • Throw a Hook and animation to climb throught it.

It's for that that i need the commission, there are a lot hahaha, but no problem if u can't, i still have a lot of things to do before implementing the animations.

Thank you again, you are great :)

(+1)

Ah thanks I see. At the moment, unfortunately, I will not be able to accept due to the capacity at this time, but in the future when you need the animations, please send me a message again and hopefully I will be free then.

Thanks for understanding and best of luck to you. Very excited to see how your game goes :)

(+1)

Thank you a lot :) I will contact you in the future, don't doubt about it hahaha, best of luck to you also ^^

Thanks!!

(1 edit) (+1)

oh boy this is AMAZING the only thing I wish this pack would have though is a few simple combat animation👀😉

Thanks so much.

As requested, I have added some basic combat animations now (have been working on it this last week). They are probably not the best, but I will continue improving and adding more. If you download the zip file again, you should have the new combat animations:

https://deadrevolver.itch.io/pixel-prototype-player-sprites/devlog/313159/new-an...

(+1)

ABSOLUTE LEGEND!

(+1)

this is awesome , would love to see some attack animations with swords , bows etc, not demanding just being curious :P

(+1)

Thanks - that has definitely been on my todo list - but unfortunately haven't gotten the time to do that yet. Plan on trying to do that within the next month or so hopefully.

(+1)

Hi, just an update: I added some simple sword animations so long. Hopefully that helps :)

This is absolutely awesome. Excuse my audacity, but if by any chance you plan to update him, a simple walk cycle would be great

Thanks so much. That is on the todo list as soon as I get free time to work on this. Thank you for the suggestion. I will keep you updated when I do add it.

(+1)

perfect !!

Thank you!

(+1)

easily my new go-to prototype player sprite, amazing work

Thats so cool to hear, thanks.

(+1)

Hello. I would like to know if you are able to design more assets like this for a game. If so, please come to my server https://discord.com/invite/JBShgaFPyD, and I will DM you about the project. Cheers

(+2)

Hi Stefan, I would usually love to, but unfortunately, it is not a good time at the moment with the current time constraints and projects, so won't be possible.

I do apologize, and wish you the best of luck though!

(+1)

Oh, ok. Thank you! Good luck! :)

(+1)

Thanks for understanding.

(+1)(-1)

StefanN, is that you? I have never seen you before in here!

(+1)

Thank you very much. This animation is so great, it really improved the quality of our game jam submission:
https://ntropi.itch.io/jupiter-candle

(+1)

This is so cool! Thanks for your kind words and congratulations on the game jam submission.

(+1)

wow man this you sir are a Legend. thank you.

I really ppreciate your kind words, thank you.

(1 edit) (+1)

God bless you man. Thank you! if i had money i will give you :D but sorry for now.

(+1)

Thanks, it is only a pleasure.

No worries at all, that is exactly why I made it free :)

(+1)

Hi, Dead Revolver.

I Wanted To Thank You For Making This Asset/Sprite!

The Animation Is Smooth And Everything That I Need Is Available In Here, I Will Be Using It For My Game Soon!

So happy to hear that :) Best of luck with it!

(+1)

Wonderful asset! I used it in my game Jam submission :)
Is there anyway to find more of your art/game?
https://daivy.itch.io/unstable-truth-or-dare

That's really awesome! Love the pseudo 3D twist to it with the shadows. Looks great!

Unfortunately at the moment I don't have any more art as I don't have too much free time with everything going on at the moment. But once I get more time I will hopefully be making more art and continuing with the game and will let you know.

(+1)

Thank you! Best luck to you!

(+1)

This is awesome, I used it in a game jam submission, thank you for making this!
https://the-law-1.itch.io/hookd

That's really awesome. Well done on that and love the squash and stretch animations you added to it.

Glad you found the asset useful :)

(+1)

This is an amazing asset plus it's free. I can't thank the owner enough for creating this. I donated.

Thank you SO much for that and the donation - I truly appreciate it a lot!

(+1)

Amazing.

That looks awesome! Well done man!

(+1)

Your sprites are awesome! You're talented :D

Thank you! :)

(1 edit) (+1)

Great asset! But I don't quite understand what "idle transition" is used for. Is it used to link idle and run animations?

(+1)

Hi Urada,

Thanks! It is essentially for transitioning from the run state to the idle state, so when the run button is released, to change into the idle state.

(+1)

I experimented in unity3d, maybe I did something wrong, the effect does not look natural. The effect from idle directly to run seems to be better (and vice versa).

Thanks for the response. Appreciate the feedback. Ok I think you are right, I will rather remove that animation or try to improve it.

(+1)

Anyway, thank you again for your work ;)

Only a pleasure.

(+1)

I still have a small problem. I am trying to make a jumping effect. I don't know when to use jump and land animations. My current plan is to play jump_rise when I press the jump button and continue to exert force. Then I play jump_mid. After landing, play jump_fall and land continuously.

I am new to game development and I don’t know what the "correct/best" approach is. It would be great if you can answer my question :)

(+1)

The way I used it is like you said to play the jump_rise when pressing jump and while going upwards, then playing the jump_mid animation when the upwards velocity is 0 or within a small thresold, then play the jump_fall animation when going down and the land animation when touching the ground (making sure it only plays once and so that the player can cancel out of it without having to watch the whole animation if they wish).

I hope this helps :)

(+1)

Hi! Thank you for creating and sharing this!

I used it to create our example on how to use animations in the ggez game engine. Especially the idle animation works great for showcasing custom transition functions!

The example can be found running on the web here.

That's really awesome. Very nicely done and glad it was useful!

(+1)

Hey! I had some bugs with this sprites...
Because picture is not in the center, in messes up your gameObject( screenshot 1) .
Nothing that I cannot fix in Unity, but I'd have to change pivot point for each sprite( screenshot 2)  OR cut sprite sheet myself.
It's always better to keep your object in the center.(screenshot 3)

I don't mean any disrespect by this comment, art looks great and I'm happy to have it ,it's just some trouble I have and I think you should know about it

Deleted 3 years ago

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Just to make sure - do you mean center vertically? As it should be centered horizontally.

The reason for this is to allow for all animations to fit in the same size (jump, attacks etc.)

The way I used it is setting the pivot to the bottom (players feet) but will definitely look into centering it vertically if you guys think that is better.

Thank you

(+1)

you can fit your character in canvas of 64x64. so you just put him in the middle of 64x64 square and do it for each sprite. It also will be easier to cut sprite sheet if al lof them are in the same square of 64x64 ...or even 128x128 . that is not so important . but it must be even. Because now ,well...see yourself

(+1)

Ok will do. Sorry about that.

Deleted 279 days ago

Thanks

(+1)

Great assets, I made a game prototype using this for the main character, Could I link it here? Maybe we can work together in the future

Awesome. Yeah you can link it here, I would love to see it!

(+1)

InTime - Prototype by bg-crazy (itch.io)

That's great. Very challenging and interesting gameplay.

(+1)

Thanks, hope to have more done soon, would you be interested in adding to the art at all

Awesome. I would be, but unfortunately with work and verything I don't currently have any free time, so will have to politely decline. Thanks for the offer though, I do apprciate it.

(+1)

This is perfect, I'm thinking of using it as an animation "base" for my own character. I can't stress enough how big of a deal is the fact that this is CC0. Thanks!

- Kaizen

(+1)

Thanks. That's really awesome.

All the best with that!
